Privacy Policy

Cocktail AI is made by one person. This policy describes what the app actually does, in the order the data moves, and names every company that touches it. Where something is imperfect it says so rather than reaching for a phrase that covers it.
There is no account
You do not sign up, and the app never asks for your name, email address, phone number, or date of birth. On first launch it generates a random identifier for your installation and stores it on your device. That identifier is what links your saved recipes to you, and it is the only thing we have that could be called an account.
It is not derived from your device's hardware, it is not shared with other apps, and deleting the app deletes it. Reinstalling produces a new one, and the old data is no longer reachable by anyone, including us.

About the photos
When you scan a bottle, the photo is uploaded to our storage and a link to it is sent to Replicate, which runs the model that identifies the spirit. That link is signed and expires ten minutes later: the photo is not readable by anyone holding a URL, and it is not served publicly. A second model then generates an illustration of the finished cocktail, and that image is public, because it is what your saved recipe shows.
Photograph the bottle, not the room. The app has no use for anything else in the frame, but it does not crop for you.
About the usage events
Each event records what happened and nothing about who you are: an event
name such as paywall_shown or cocktail_created,
the screen or category it relates to, a session identifier, your
installation identifier, the platform, and the app version. There is no
advertising identifier, no location, no contacts, and no profile built
across apps or over time.
What the app does not do
- No advertising and no ad networks. The app contains no advertising SDK, and nothing about you is sold, rented, or shared for marketing.
- No cross-app tracking. The app does not use the advertising identifier and never asks permission to track you, because it does not.
- No payment details. Subscriptions are billed by Apple. We never see your card, and we cannot charge you.
- No reading your photo library. Choosing a photo gives the app that one photo. It cannot browse the rest.
Who processes your data
These are the only companies involved. Each is a processor acting on our instructions, not an independent recipient.
- Supabase — the database, file storage, and server functions behind the app.
- Replicate — hosts the models the app calls. It receives the bottle photo and the recipe request. The identification model is Anthropic's Claude; the illustration model is FLUX by Black Forest Labs.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription state and tells the app whether you are a subscriber.
- Apple — processes payment and handles refunds, under Apple's own privacy policy.
How long it is kept
Recipes, collections, and preferences are kept until you delete them, because losing them is the thing you would notice. Usage events are kept while they are useful for understanding how the app is used. Photos are kept alongside the recipe they produced.
Deleting your data
Open Settings in the app and choose Delete My Data. This removes your saved recipes, collections, preferences, and usage events from our database immediately and permanently. There is no recovery, on your side or ours.
The photos go with it. The bottle photo you took and the cocktail image generated from it are deleted from storage in the same action, not just unlinked from the recipe.
Children
Cocktail AI is about alcoholic drinks and is rated for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the legal drinking age in their country.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or erase your data, and to object to how it is handled. Because there is no account, the way to exercise any of these is to email us from the device in question — the app's settings screen can show you your installation identifier, which is what we need to find your records. We will respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or who receives it, the date at the top changes and the app will point you here again. Past versions are in the app's public repository history.
